SYNOPSIS
“The Life and Love of Joe Coogan,” adapted from the Dick Van Dyke Show episode of the same name, tells the story of television writer Rob Petrie and his wife Laura in a moment of comic insecurity in their happy marriage. Rob meets a tall, handsome man named Joe Coogan on a public golf course and learns that Joe was once in love with Laura, courting her with love sonnets. He becomes uncharacteristically jealous and insecure, leading to a zany dinner party and surprise ending.
Directed by Laura Johnson and featuring the Monocacy Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Paul Salerni.
Eugene Ablulescu and the Iannis String Quartet open the program with the Brahms Piano Quintet.
